This scientific article was the purpose to analyze the allocation of police officers in schools as a mechanism for reducing cases of violence within educational establishments. Research was used that involved journalistic articles on the subject, three of which were favorable and three were contrary, adding the author's personal experience and his empirical understanding of more than twenty years in the public security segment. The work concludes that, despite the great bias of the written, heard and spoken media towards giving space to a small number of actors opposed to the initiative, the integration of the police with the education segment is a measure that strengthens the partnership desired in the philosophy and community police strategy, a path adopted by all Brazilian states as a tool to strengthen crime control and increase the sense of security.
