Abstract

This article examines recent legislative advances in the field of protection against domestic violence, focusing on innovations or changes to the Maria da Penha Law and the most important jurisprudence on the topic. Furthermore, we analyze the various questions that arise in the implementation of these legislative changes and jurisprudential understandings, including legal, social and institutional obstacles. By addressing the identified gaps and opportunities, this article seeks to provide valuable insights to improve enforcement strategies and further strengthen the effectiveness of domestic violence protection laws.
