Abstract

This is a study that analyzes the historical and legal origins of the city of São Paulo, built to pay homage to the 470th anniversary of the city hosting the first Institute for Assistance and Comprehensive Support for Victims in the country (Próvitima). The methodology used is a combination of bibliographical, descriptive and deductive review and the study is justified in that it addresses key issues related to São Paulo's legal, administrative and cultural history, promoting and activating memory, education and culture.
