SCHOOL POLICING IN THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO

This scientific article seeks to analyze society's perspectives regarding community policing in schools, with emphasis on the School Solidarity Neighborhood Program (PVS Escolar) and the concern and measures regarding recent attacks in educational institutions. To this end, the main foundations of community policing in schools will be explored as a preventive approach in order to promote the safety and well-being of students. In addition, the different views of society in relation to this strategy will be discussed, considering the benefits and concerns related to the police presence in schools. Finally, the recent attacks will be analyzed as a point of reflection on the importance of rethinking school security strategies, particularly in the State of São Paulo.
