Sexual violence is a serious problem that affects thousands of people every year in our country and in the world, and its etiology is associated with different factors. Among the main victims are our children and adolescents, female and of black race/ethnicity. The repercussions are diverse, from physical, sexual, psychological and even social damage, with short, medical and long-term manifestations. Caring for these cases requires professional preparation and profile, otherwise revictimization and institutional violence can easily occur. Unfortunately, there is no standardization in our country, despite the existence of Law 13,431 of 2017 and Law 14,321 of 2022, many professionals who directly assist victims of this very serious type of violence are unaware of their existence.
