Trauma in children of narcissistic parents

The article addresses the issue of trauma in children of narcissistic parents, which aims to identify narcissistic abuse in the relationship between narcissistic parents and children and to describe the trauma as a consequence in the adult life of children and adolescents who are victims of prolonged narcissistic abuse. The research methodology adopted in this work was the narrative review of the literature, carried out through the use of material accessible to the general public, such as books and material available on the electronic network, being presented in an aggregated form. As a result of the study, it was possible to verify that the narcissistic abuse practiced by narcissistic parents to their children causes traumas, which can have repercussions in the short and long term, compromising the physical and mental health of children and adolescents, also reflecting in their adult lives. people, since the children, as a child, are built through the images and opinions that the parents have of them, being incorporated into their way of being.
