Um Estudo Sobre o Massacre no Carandiru

The massacre at the Casa de Detenção Carandiru, an episode that occurred on October 2, 1992, occurred tragically due to the method of intervention by the Military Police Troops of the State of São Paulo, when three hundred and twenty-five police officers without identification, such as badges, and without insignia, armed with machine guns, pistols and rifles, to contain the rebellion where they invaded pavilion 9 of the Casa de Detenção and They shot at the detainees, aiming and hitting mainly the head and chest. In the end, 111 inmates died, 8 died due to injuries caused by sharp objects and 103 were victims of gunshots. There were 515 shots fired, 153 injured, 130 inmates and 23 military police, however, there were no police officers killed. That day was marked as the worst episode in the history of the Brazilian Penitentiary System, where it served as an illustrative moment of the situation experienced by prisoners at that historical moment, and is still remembered for its sad story.
