Brazilian society faces behavioral challenges due to rapid technological and scientific progress. The overexposure of personal information on social media and the ease of accessing personal data increase the risks of stalking. Brazilian legislation, through Article 147-A of the Penal Code, provides penalties for the crime of stalking, but the effectiveness of these measures is questioned. Victim protection depends on awareness of the risks of personal exposure and the search for data protection methods. Self-preservation is the first recommended measure to combat stalking.
